What I live for....

Days spent in foreign markets...so much culture, bargaining and fun!  Today we made the 3 hour bus ride to Chichicastenango to spend the morning at the market.  It was a great day of cultural experiences including fitting 35 people into a micro-bus (think mini-van) and 75 into a bus (picture each school bus row with 7 adults across) on the way there and back.  Needless to say I got my arm workout all afternoon, while I gripped the bar on every turn.  The whole ride was through the mountains on winding roads.  The half of my butt on the seat went numb, but it was an experience.

Noted on the bus:
  • One cat in an ice cream box
  • One 35" TV wrapped in a sheet taking most of the room
  • 3 people riding on the roof of the bus
The markets were crowed and bustling with activity.  I loved looking at all the textiles.  I bought a few things and spent most of the time browsing (it was so large it took over an hour just to see most of the "tourist" things.

Note: Not poop on my head...just a reflection.

I'm Exhausted...Another great day!
